PRICING & THE BESPOKE PROCESS
Creating a bespoke piece with Jemma is a collaborative journey — and it's much more straightforward than you might think. Jemma will support you every step of the way.
How it works — four simple steps
Free consultation — we chat about your ideas, hopes, and inspiration. No pressure, no commitment. This can be in person, by phone, or over email — wherever you are in the UK.
Design — Jemma works with you to develop a series of designs until you find the one you love. Every detail is yours to shape.
Jemma makes it — once you're happy with the design and price, Jemma crafts your piece entirely by hand in her studio in beautiful Pembrokeshire. Most pieces take around 4–8 weeks.
It's yours — your finished piece is presented to you in a gorgeous little box, ready to treasure forever.
What does it cost?
Every bespoke piece has its own unique price, but to give you a sense of what to expect:
Most bespoke engagement rings are priced between £800 and £2,500 — depending on three things:
Your choice of metal — recycled and/or fairtrade gold (9ct, 18ct, yellow, white or rose)or recycled platinum
Your choice of stones — from no stones at all to ethically sourced sapphires, emeralds, Canadian diamonds, and more
The complexity of the design — a beautifully simple plain band, or something with lots of delicate detail and sparkle
Once Jemma knows what you have in mind, she'll provide a personalised quote.
Payment
A 60% deposit is required to begin work
The remaining 40% is due within 48 hours of safe receipt of your completed piece
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to know what I want before getting in touch? Not at all! Many clients come to Jemma with just a vague feeling or a few saved photos. That's more than enough to start.
Can we work together if I'm not local to Pembrokeshire? Absolutely — many of Jemma's clients are based across the UK and Europe. Consultations work beautifully over phone or email, and finished pieces are sent by secure insured post.
What if I don't love the designs? Jemma works closely with each client until the piece feels exactly right.
How long does the process take? Most bespoke pieces are completed within 4–8 weeks of the design being finalised. If you have a deadline — an anniversary, a proposal date! — just mention it and Jemma will do her best to accommodate you.
Can I use my own stones or existing jewellery? Yes — Jemma is very happy to work with existing jewellery pieces, incorporating the gold and gemstones from precious family heirlooms into something entirely new. Jemma understands deeply how much sentimentality can be held within a family piece, and loves nothing more than giving it a new life whilst honouring everything that makes it so special.
